International Symposium on Green Chemistry (2017)

We are delighted to let you know that NESSE will be partnering again with the International Symposium on Green Chemistry. This is the leading event for scientists and industries to share their findings on sustainable chemistry. ISGC 2017 will take place in La Rochelle, France from May 16th-19th. NESSE will be present organizing career-development and networking activities throughout the event. Read below to see everything we will be doing.

Two NESSE members, Roberto Frederico and Simon Rauch have joined the ISGC2017 conference coordination team and been planning lots of exciting early-career activities!

We want to share the perspectives of NESSE members at the event about why you think sustainable science is important and what you want to achieve in the future. Your profile will be around 200 words and we plan to hang it at the NESSE exhibition stand to form a network and spark a discussion. Have a look at our template for inspiration.

Please fill out the following form before 30th April to be part of the bulletin board! We look forward to receiving your responses.

May 18 th , 11.00-12.30. Thriving careers and sustainability: a discussion panel.

Academia and industry are common career paths for the new generation of individuals working in STEM. Both provide a unique approach and contribution to economic progress, and demand a particular set of skills. What factors are relevant for career advancement in each sector? How does the partnership between them play a role in social development? What professional opportunities in the context of sustainability are currently out there? The speakers at ISGC-2017 will come together and bring their expertise to discuss answers to these and other questions pertaining to professional growth. Come engage into a conversation with our distinguished panelists:

  • Prof. Rafael Luque. University of Cordoba, Spain
  • Dr. Edith Lecomte-Norrant. UCB Biopharma, Belgium
  • Prof. Peter Wasserscheid. Friedrich-Alexander University, Germany

May 18 th , 16.00-18.00. Networking Social.

Join us for a casual get-together at a local bar, where you will get the chance to network with other like-minded professionals in the field of sustainable science.

Please visit the ISGC 2017 website to check out the tentative program of the symposium. We look forward to seeing you in La Rochelle!
